Welcome to Scrub Games

We make escape rooms for surgical teams.

Our mission is to build better teams because this leads to better patient care.

We design and deliver escape rooms for surgical education and training.

Our sessions simulate clinical scenarios, but with twists and surprises along the way - much like real working life! Participants explore surgical concepts by using their knowledge and training to solve the puzzles and escape the room.

The games have a focus on experiential and collaborative learning and the unique escape-room style also highlights the importance of human factors education, which despite being a core concept in the delivery of safe surgery, can sometimes be left unexplored in more traditional teaching methods.

We know that medical education needs to be both effective and enjoyable and our sessions prioritise meeting our learning objectives with a very healthy dose of fun along the way!

What our participants say

  • I loved it! The scenario was fun, educational and enlightening to take part in. A novel approach to education and definitely something I would recommend to others.

Debbie Gooch, Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Colchester Hospital

  • I was pleasantly surprised by the rich insights that the medical students were able to garner from just an hour of running through the campus. It is telling how a simple game which definitely drummed up enthusiasm for the upcoming surgery posting was also able to positively influence attitudes towards patient care.

Dr Emmanuel, Associate Professor of Surgery, CMC Vellore, India

  • It is excellent work you’ve done on the Escape Room! It was a very exciting discovery for me as I never took part in something similar before. I must congratulate you for the organization! I have spoken with other participants from other teams and they were very appreciative as well!

Valeriu Surlin, Professor of Surgery, Craiova, Romania and EAES Escape Room Winner

  • “…the trainees were enjoying the session but also genuinely took away important experience of team working under pressure/human factors…”

Dr James Jegard, Foundation Programme Director

  • “Really innovative way to practice teamwork with an unfamiliar team. Brilliant.”
